The Man had to go into work this morning, which was a shame but it happens sometimes. By the time he got home, the Boy had been whisked off for a roller skating outing at Guptills with his buddy. He tells us he did 31 laps or more of (you'll remember) the world's biggest roller skating rink. The rest of us decided to go swimming, and followed that up with a few turns around the ice-rink - even the Man, though of course he lacks the intensively tutored grace on ice of the Girl and - ahem - me. Then what with a library visit and a trip to the supermarket, the short-by-an-hour day had pretty much been filled.
If you're puzzled by the title, I do know it's not the 12th today (and far be it from me to encourage you to go and shoot a grouse, anyway). But it is our twelfth wedding anniversary - glory be.
On the subject of enduring lurve, who can guess what this - seen in Seoul - is all about?
Looks like there are lots of tiny padlocks involved...no, you'll have to tell us what this is!
ReplyDeleteIs it a wedding dress with "presents" attached?
ReplyDeleteYou're right about the padlocks, Avril - but what can it all mean? I'll give you another day or so to think about it...
ReplyDeleteThey are called "Locks of Love", and they form a sort of ongoing popular art installation on Namsan Bridge, representing people's undying love for each other, as described on all the little notes attached to the locks.
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it you're supposed to lock the padlock on and then throw away the key - what the ones with the combination locks are telling us I'm not sure...
ReplyDeleteThe Locks of Love equivalent of a pre-nuptial agreement, maybe?
