Albaniana and the Chamber of Secrets

Last night we finished watching one of the Harry Potter movies on DVD.  There were the usual endless scenes of Harry and pals wandering about in gloomy forbidden corridors at Hogwarts, encountering who-knows-what appalling terrors.

Today it was my turn!  With another mom I got to explore the dark and dingy dungeons basement storage area at the Middle School.  Though we weren't hunting trolls or dragons, we did come across some pirates and skeletons... 

We were borrowing costumes for the 5th Grade musical - the Middle School has a whole roomful and we had free range.  After an hour or more of rummaging in boxes, we came out lugging half a dozen bin-bags stuffed with Victorian dresses, extravagant hats and natty waistcoats ("vests", if you must).  The kids are going to look the perfect picture of 1890s elegance.

Then we legged it out of there, before the gnarly old janitor with the oil lamp and the mangy cat could catch us...
