Last day of school for the Boy, and last full day of school for the Girl (for inexplicable reasons she still has two half-days to go). In fact most of the Girl's school day today was spent on a jolly at the town park pool, so she's not being too hard done by.
How did I spend my last full day of solitude? Mostly hanging around waiting while the car got serviced and had its brakes fixed - nearly four hours in all. Sigh. I read a lot of Bill Bryson's At Home and took the rare opportunity to watch The Price is Right on an enormous flat-screen TV.
Funny how four hours can seem like an eternity, while a whole school year has just zipped by in less than an instant.
