Japanese fan

The Girl is quite a fan of Japanese culture.  I am, too, but her interest is independent of mine.  She has come to it mainly through electronics, manga and anime.  Recently (as I've mentioned before) she has taken a liking to Japanese food as well.

So we took her out for Japanese lunch again yesterday.  This time she tried just a tiny bit of wasabi (horseradish paste).  Eating it feels a lot like getting punched in the nose - it really can make your eyes water.  It's odd that anyone would ever develop a taste for it, but strangely it can end up being quite addictive.  Anyway, the Girl isn't quite there yet.  But she did enjoy her tempura and steak teriyaki.
