Taking a wintery Huyck

It's a while since we've been to the Huyck Preserve at Rensselaerville - the last time was probably this occasion.

The Man and I set out there today, better suited and booted this time around for a landscape of deep snow. The pine trees creaked eerily in the woods, a deer galloped in the distance and the snow drifted over our footprints as we explored icey waterfalls and the snowy wasteland of the lake. It was very beautiful - and we had it almost entirely to ourselves.

  1. This certainly looks beautiful. It's snowy back here in Blighty too though only a mere -2C for us.
    Happy new year
