Out of a need to do something, this afternoon I've been making these little brooches - "Hearts for Haiti" if you like. I'm going to see how many of my sewing students would like to help me out, and we'll sell what we make at school, in exchange for donations to Save the Children. As a fundraiser we'll just have to see how it goes. If nothing else, I hope the kids who take part will realise that they can put their new skills to some good use, because that's not a bad lesson to learn.
