It has been a lovely day of chatting and laughing and catching up with numerous friends. The Girl and Boy each had playdates with good buddies, and in the afternoon Insanely Livid (with whom we are staying) had kindly set up a bit of a party for us so we could see a whole crowd of people under one roof. We would have met down on the field only the weather looked iffy all day, though in the event it hardly rained. The wettest anyone got was from being water-bombed in the garden.
We are still not on the right clocks, but slowly trying to reset ourselves. It's been a struggle to drag ourselves out of bed before 10am and the kids have still been awake at midnight every night since we arrived - so good luck to the friends hosting the Girl for a sleepover tonight!
A tired Boy tonight, at the end of such a happy day, said weepily "I wish we could take Linton with us wherever we go." The rest of us know what he means.
Hello all of you, whereever you are - sorry we missed you when you passed by today (we were in the back garden eating pasta, so wouldn't have heard the door). Will we see you tomorrow morning? If not: it's been a very brief encounter, but it was lovely to see you again and we wish you a great rest of stay and (dare I say it) a problem-free return journey.
ReplyDeleteHi a.f. I'll be down your end of the village sometime tomorrow morning, but doubt we'll make it for school drop-off time. I'll call by and see if you're around, otherwise thanks for your good wishes and it was great to see you too!
