Ice and easy does it

It's been kid city round at our place today. The Girl had a last minute sleepover guest last night who ended up staying with us 'til midday, and meanwhile the Exiles arrived en masse seeking refuge from their still-cold house. Then more friends appeared in the afternoon - it was a non-stop party.


The Man and the Exile busied themselves doing manly stuff with a chainsaw. Least of our problems during the power outage, the ice storm on Thursday had brought down a tree in our backyard which needed to be dealt with.

Ice - so beautiful, so destructive.


The Exiles' electricity was restored during the afternoon, so they are back in their own home again. School, however, is still without power, so tomorrow will be another unscheduled day off for the kids.
