I have to admit, we were expecting to spend Christmas Day being the original Norm No-Mates family. But we've been invited to a party! Our used-to-be-British friend (she of the annual Hallowe'en/panto parties) is hosting a get-together for the waifs and strays of her acquaintance - or at any rate, others who for whatever reason are not going to be spending the holidays with extended family.
With a bit of luck this year's Christmas will involve less heave and more ho ho ho. And there's a chance of some classier festive fayre than last year, too - although with talk of Marmite appearing on the menu (in our honour...) I may be wrong there.
