It's still cold, but Spring is doing its best. Appropriately enough with Earth Day happening this week, many community and conservation groups have organised clean-up days. The Boy was invited by his buddy's family to help clean up Buckingham Pond in Albany, and the rest of us joined them a little later.
The Pond is an attractive natural space in a residential area. Most of the cleaning up had already happened by the time we got there, but there was just enough left so that the Man could have a go with the litter-picking grabber thing - so much fun that he's considering a career change.
He and I later made it down to Five Rivers for a squelch around the trails. The geese are back, and we saw some busy muskrats scootling across a couple of the ponds. Everywhere the trees are coming into bud - it can only be a few weeks now before everywhere turns green.
Thats a very noble way to spend your leisure time Well done everybody
