Dining out as a family has always tended to be quite a challenge for us due to certain people's faddy eating habits. However, today the Boy was off on a day trip to Lake Placid with his buddy's family, so that enabled the rest of us to have a very tasty Japanese lunch at Hana in Colonie.
It's fun to eat out with the Girl these days - she's willing to try new things, especially Asian cuisine. She's rather taken by Japanese culture thanks to all the manga she reads and draws, so she enjoyed the experience of eating from a bento (lunch box) - the little compartments containing sushi rolls, shumai (dumplings), vegetable tempura and (in her case) steak teriyaki.
It was a good meal, and very filling - it set us up for the rest of the day. Even by late this evening no-one really felt like eating again.
Japanese food is quite different from Chinese then if it keeps you full for so long.Have never tried the former, but you know what they say about old dogs.It always looks very nice
