Last night's storm struck just as we were heading up to bed. It was preceded by a fearsome wind that sounded like it was rushing up the street, then lightning and thunder. All very dramatic, but there was no sign of anything having happened when we got up this morning.
Then packing and preparations for me. Followed by some unpacking as the first of our family travellers returned. The Girl came back to us today. She'd had a great week away at Nature's Classroom up on Lake George in the Adirondacks, but still was very happy to be safely home, reunited with her...computer games.
She was soon followed by my Mum and aunt, who had also had a wonderful time seeing the sights of New York City. They seem to have packed a lot in - island boat trip, visit to the Metropolitan Museum, views from the top of the Rockefeller Center, tour of the UN - a bit of everything, but leaving plenty more for a return trip someday.
