Beach where?

We woke to snow, which kept gently falling until noon, leaving us with two or three fresh inches of white.

In the afternoon the Man (off work for Presidents Day) and I thought it might be nice to visit Grafton Lake, and indeed it was very beautiful - and totally deserted.  But although we'd brought our skates with us the skating rink on the lake was snowed under, and obviously with no lifeguard present we weren't able to swim.

So we moved on to the nearby Peace Pagoda, which was also looking beautiful.  But the children, feeling cold, were not in best spirits and we didn't stay long.  You can lead your child to the pagoda, but you can't make him or her meditate.

Happier times this evening though:  the kids requested a "Family Games Night" and we've had some raucous rounds of Dweebies, Slamwich, Apples to Apples and Cranium.
