Vermiculture

The Boy spent the afternoon at his Buddy's house (or as we've come to think of it, his weekend home). The rest of us took ourselves off to Five Rivers where there was a special programme on worms and composting. We all now feel very well-informed on the subject, and can tell our nightcrawlers from our red wigglers.

After the talk we spent a while watching the bird feeders, visited today by many squirrels and chipmunks, and yes, even a few birds.

Then on round the Beaver Tree trail, where the Girl and I spotted an actual beaver! It was busily taking supplies to its lodge. We also found a turtle digging a hole by the side of the path, presumably to lay eggs in, so that was pretty cool too.
