Sweet!

So, as their reward for having to spend a couple of hours in a fascinating museum in Pittsfield yesterday, the kids also got to visit a certain store we'd read about somewhere.

As with our trips to Jolly's, it was very thrilling for us ex-pats to be surrounded by familiar fare: chocolate buttons, curlywurlies, Rowntrees fruit pastilles etc etc.  The kids got quite giddy and loud with excitement, sounding like...well...like children in a sweetshop.  We stocked up, rather too enthusiastically I fear - but it's been such a long time since we've had custard creams or jammie dodgers in the cupboard, and will likely be a long time again.

The Boy was disappointed by the (temporary) absence of Hula Hoops, but not so bothered when the shop's owner (from Sheffield) volunteered that he had himself just polished off the last packet of pickled onion Monster Munch.

Brits 'R' U.S is also decked out with many icons of British culture, in cardboard cutout form.  Harry Potter, Dr. Who's Tardis, Will and Kate.  Is there anyone/thing else you think should be there?
