She has five friends round already and another is on her way. Loud, loud, loud they are. The Boy has made arrangements to sleep elsewhere tonight. The Man is thinking of joining him...
But (cunning plan) however late they decide to stay up, it should in fact be possible for us adults to get some kip tonight. The girls are going to be in the basement for the night - yay, two floors away!
In other news, we have put up a squirrel-proof birdfeeder. Amazingly, it does seem to work (it has a spring mechanism that shuts off the seed compartments when anything heavier than a bird steps on the perches).
However, we discovered today that spring-loaded gizmos do nothing at all to deter a much larger animal...
