Sanctuary

It's a while since any of us have been here.

The Girl and Boy were busy with other activities, so the Man and I popped over to Hollyhock Hollow for a quick hike through the woods.  I think we were the only people there - we didn't see anyone else on the trails, only squirrels and chipmunks.

On our way round we admired some quarried stone reputed to be the same as that used to build the Brooklyn Bridge.

Though nowhere near as challenging or view-tastic as our recent hikes in Acadia, we enjoyed the trees (noisy with birds) and the river and having this rather lovely place to ourselves.
