This afternoon found us at the Knick - the Knickerbacker Ice Arena in Troy. Now that our local rink has closed for the season, this will be where the Girl takes her weekly skating lessons.
The Boy came along too and was quite taken with the place - whether mostly by the extensive recreation grounds outside (next week he plans to bring some games equipment) or by the well-stocked vending machines inside, it's hard to say.
We've invested in some "hard-guards" for the Girl's skates - so that her blades don't get nicks at the Knick while she's walking around off-ice. But we must remember to put her name on them, so that they don't get nicked from the Knick. So says her coach - whose name is (you guessed it): Nikki.
