Our nearest local weather station tells us the temperature reached 97F this afternoon, and we know it hit 100 not far from us.
So, the pool really came into its own today and we all made good use of it, and apart from a desultory game of Scrabble we didn't achieve a whole lot else. Tonight we have caved in to the heat and switched on the air conditioner.
Tomorrow will be even hotter.
