A belated birthday party for the Girl today. It took hours of planning and preparation, but the event itself required very little parental involvement. The kids all disappeared into the basement, leaving the adults to drink tea and chat - very civilized, and a welcome break.
They did surface briefly, for a frantic treasure hunt in the yard. In the middle of the treasure hunt, this UFO appeared. Can anyone help identify it?Later, as the party was nearing an end, our neighbour appeared with a small crabapple tree in a wheelbarrow, so we planted that.
It looked rather peaky from the shock of being dug up, but we're watering it in and it seems to be coming round.And it was 'snowing' today, at least that's what the children screamed as they ran outside and danced in a blizzard of falling cherry blossom petals.
