Robin Food

It has been a day of welcome rain, for the garden at least.

I daresay it will bring out the worms, which will be good news for the local robins. The Boy did a bird project at school recently and learnt that the American robin likes to eat 14ft of earthworms per day. That's a big plate of earthworms!

There must be a joke in there somewhere about typical US food portions, but far be it from me to be the one to make it.

    I feel moved to mention that as a result of the surface worm population explosion a local farm has a merry hen. Probably.
