I wasn't really mooching. I quite enjoyed a day off from socializing to mainly read a book. "Being Mortal" by Atul Gawande is about end-of-life decisions, so you wouldn't think it to be too uplifting, but the author is intelligent and compassionate and in fact it's a positive and interesting read.
I rounded off the day dining with friends A & C at an Indian restaurant on Madison Ave. Conversation ranged all over the place and was positive and interesting too.
