I hadn't realised that people could get actively excited about particular apples, but my own husband and daughter are crazy for Honeycrisps (and I'm pretty keen myself) so there you go. They are so good, they've even got their own website.

In praise of Honeycrisp
We're getting well into the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, and very nice it is, too, this year. The mornings and nights are a little chilly, but the days have been warm and dry, and the Fall colours are a treat.
Also a treat this time of year - Honeycrisp apples. The new queen of apples: sweet, firm and crunchy. And rather pricey as apples go, but worth the expense. They are only available for a short time. Waitrose are doing a thing about apples Even with a third off they are still pricey especially as I used to be able to pick my own at previous residences
