The school bus was a little late arriving this afternoon, on account of a near-miss disaster - Blankie got left at school as the bus was about to set off for home! The bus driver was ready to keep going, but the Boy's bus buddies rallied round and forced her to stop - "He can't sleep without it!!"
Later the Girl and Boy watched a Charlie Brown DVD in which Linus dreams his sister has thrown his blanket out of a spaceship. Linus wakes up in a sweat, grabs his blanket (not lost after all!) and plunks his thumb in his mouth. Our Boy, the mirror image of Linus, gave a sigh of heartfelt sympathy and relief.
Meanwhile the Man is very stoical about the latest football disappointment. Life's a (blank), he says
Poor old Chelsea. What The Man should have done is slept all the way through the football after a lovely afternoon at the Cambridge Beer Festival. I mention no names.
