The day after, tomorrow

In the end the storm only skirted the Capital District.  We got off very lightly.  Not the case for so many others - I'm sure you'll have seen the pictures.  We feel very lucky, and very sorry for all those badly affected by Sandy.

Blustery weather continued today, but nothing we couldn't handle.  The children, to their great disappointment, were back at school as usual.  Mum and Dad and I went to to take a look at Cohoes Falls.  The flow of water was fairly modest, though we noticed that the spray was being blown back up the falls.

We went to lunch (postponed from yesterday) with former neighbours, so that was very jolly.  Then Dad had a lecture to attend, while Mum did a final raid on JoAnne's craft emporium.

Hi jinks this evening - a round of Cranium, extended-family edition.  Much hilarious miming, humming, drawing, clay modelling and general silliness.  Then Mum and Dad told the kids about the various misfortunes of pets-we-have-known, until (alas) bedtime.  This is the grandparents' last evening with us for this trip.
