It is a truth universally acknowledged that... you can't go too far wrong with a Jane Austen adaptation.
Well, you can. But not tonight. My mum and the Man and I, plus our friend J, have just had a fun evening at Capital Rep enjoying Pride@Prejudice.
It's yet another take on an old favourite - all the wit of the original Austen, condensed into a fast-moving performance with added informative asides by a text-and-texting savvy cast. It really was very well done. Four of the five actors played multiple roles, each character pitch perfect (and with admirably convincing British accents).
An excellent night out.
