The journey to the airport could have gone more smoothly (if there'd been less traffic, fewer accidents and better directions by Google maps), yet we arrived in good time to park the car in Newark and catch our flight. The latter was unremarkable - time for a bit of TV-watching and not quite enough sleep, and before we knew it we were at Heathrow.
We're now happily camped at my parents' house in Watford. The kids have enjoyed the heady freedom of making a trip to the corner shop by themselves to stock up on sweets - something they can't do so easily in our spread-out American suburb. We've pretty much taken it easy all day. The Boy is already conked out on the sofa in front of the telly, soon to be hauled up to bed, and I won't be long after him.
welcome back to Englandshire. hope you have a good trip. We'll be thinking of you
