It turns out that the Rensselaer Astrophysical Society have quite a few, housed at the Hirsch Observatory at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy. Every year the society hosts a children's night, and tonight was one of those and we went along.
Our first Mini Golf outing of the season meant we missed the first hour of activities, including solar viewing. But we did see Saturn with its moons and rings, the Eskimo Nebula, and some amazing close-ups of the Moon, and we got to taste astronaut ice-cream too. All very cool.
