Party 'til you drop

The Girl had her birthday party today - the one Saturday we could find when all her friends were available. Six girls had a noisy time outdoors, and a who knows what sort of a time at the cinema. They went to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Not a movie for grown-ups. Another mom and I stayed on hand in the mall but otherwise let them get on with it.

When we got back to the house they all had a crazy time with icing sugar (frosting) and sprinkles, creating - then quickly demolishing - some cupcake sensations. Then there was more backyard wildness before the guests were collected.

After all that excitement, the Girl was so tired tonight that she took herself off to bed early, a real once-in-a-blue-moon occurence. Even more surprising, her brother followed suit - and he hadn't even been at the party (although he had been out learning how to train a dragon, in 3D).
