At long last the Delaware Avenue Model Railroad shop was open - we had tried 3 times to catch it!
The Boy was faced with an awesome choice - basically between Steam and Diesel powered sets. After due deliberation he went for diesel - "because I already have a (British) steam loco" of course.
The shop man was very helpful and we struck an excellent deal with several important extras thrown in.
All this effort warranted an energy boosting ice cream to generate the horse power needed to get the railroad rolling. Much joy when it ran and even more when the Man solved the electrical problem of the switches (points).
Our day ended with a dramatic Exhibition complete with an introductory lecture by the Boy regarding Safety rules to be observed.
