Early warning system

It wasn't too bad getting up for the first day of school, but it's always a bit more challenging getting out of bed for the second... Especially so today, because it was the Girl's first before-school skating session of the new season which made for an extra early start.  And even more especially because, for no good reason, the smoke-detector on the landing had set itself off at 4am (though I'm bound to say, better no good reason than the house on fire).

I've really been enjoying the seasonably mild temperatures recently, but today the temperature and humidity went bouncing back up again (and my hair is once more in frizzy disarray).  Tomorrow we'll be sweltering in the 90sF again - ugh.
