Fair trade sale today at the Methodist church. All the familiar vendors were there - it made for a good team feeling. I think everyone did ok (this sale can't compete with the one held a month before Christmas, but people do turn out for it). There was a lot of enthusiasm for the High Schoolers' new FT club (and for the superb home-baked FT brownies they'd made to tempt people to their table), so I hope they felt good about that. As ever, it was fun catching up with old contacts, making some new ones, batting ideas around and sharing a spirit of camaraderie.
Meanwhile the Man took the Girl to the 4th annual Albany Children's Book Festival, where she was able to buy the just-published last book in her favourite Sisters Grimm series - from the author himself, Michael Buckley. So that was pretty cool. And though they missed out on the aforementioned brownies, Man and Girl did enjoy cupcakes on the top deck of Bettie's bus.
Incidentally, (certain) readers may be interested to know that Bettie's bus is a 1963 Bristol Lodekka.
