With the kids off doing one thing and another on Saturday afternoon, the Man and I had a couple of hours to ourselves. Before taking a riverside stroll (see yesterday's Normanskill photo) we dropped into Java Jazz, a cafe in Delmar, and discovered that they do very good veggie sandwiches there. Some without cheese, which is rather novel. We shared a wrap full of yummy healthy stuff like salad, hummous and tabouleh. I happen to know that the manager favours using locally grown produce where possible, so that's also very good.
We sat outside - and there's another novelty for this part of the world as there doesn't seem to be much of an outdoor cafe culture here. And Java Jazz's outdoor seating is beside the parking lot, so not that scenic. However, with temperatures in the low 70sF why sit inside?
The weather is definitely more seasonally chilly again now - there's even a bit of snow in tonight's forecast. We haven't quite seen the back of winter yet, it seems.
