The sky was blue, the air was warm - it felt like planting weather.
I already had some seeds, of course, but we still needed potting compost and so on. So the main outing of the day was a trip to buy garden supplies.
Before heading home we dropped in at the Miyako Japanese restaurant in Guilderland (just outside Albany) and bought a noodle lunch - being sold there today in aid of the Red Cross earthquake and tsunami relief fund. There was a yard sale going on, too. We were happy to support them in doing their bit for Japan.
This afternoon we planted lots of seeds in pots - now we just have to wait and see what comes up.
Later the kids were complaining that they were bored. I gave them an ultimatum - come up with something to do in the next two minutes or...tidy your rooms. Surprisingly enough they instantly realised that in fact they weren't bored at all and had many extremely pressing things to attend to. Funny, that.
