Schenectady is a city of many inventions and firsts, examples of which can be found in its rather diverting museum. To name but a few: the first commercial electron microscope (of particular - geddit? - interest to the Man); a dog-powered butter churn; silly putty. Another claim to fame is the zip (postal) code of the once huge local employer, General Electric. It's 12345.
The Boy took this photo of an electric diesel engine outside the museum and was eager to share its smiley face with you all. The Man also took some photos. I'll explain what's going on in this one once you've had a couple of days to offer your own explanations and/or captions.
