This evening the Boy combed his hair and smartened himself up for one last school event in an event-packed year. Together with his 5th Grade classmates he processed into the gym, sang songs, shook hands with his teachers and collected a diploma that officially marks the end of his elementary school career.
The significance of it all was slightly undermined by the fact that he does actually have one more morning of school tomorrow - maybe it will hit him then? Anyway, tonight after the ceremony he ran around on the field with his mates while his parents said their final thank yous and farewells to his teachers. I just about held it together and didn't have to be mopped up (but it was a close run thing).
