Tattered Pages, and tea

It's a while since we've been to our favourite secondhand bookstore, Tea and Tattered Pages, so we called in today and traded some of our used books for someone else's. Actually they don't serve tea there anymore, so now it's just called Tattered Pages, but as the Girl observes, that doesn't have so much of a ring to it. The children enjoyed browsing the books and petting the store animals, a cat and a miniature dachshund.

We had lunch out, then invited ourselves to the Exiles' place - or at least, I delivered the kids there then went off to do some distraction-free grocery shopping, before returning for - at last! - a welcome cup of tea.

This evening the kids enjoyed cooling off in the pool, heedless of the rain that started to pour down. At least they got out again well ahead of the thunder which crashed so close it actually shook the house.
