O'Hare Raising Journey

The Man writes...on a whim and a Boeing 767, I have brought the Girl back to Albany for a brief trip to catch up with her closest friends (about 12 of them at latest count).

We have learnt you can't have too long for a connection at Chicago O'Hare. Sincere thanks to the official who came down the Immigration line and invited those with connections under three hours to go to the front of the queue. If only someone had done that on our first journey to Albany eight years ago.

Even so we only just made it in time to the Gate for our onward flight - but then they decided to change the front tyres and we were delayed for an hour!

Eventually we reached Albany where, as a final challenge after 19 hours travelling, I was presented with the perverse Star Trek Enterprise control deck of a Toyota Prius - with no instructions.

Finally we are in our hotel where the Girl is revelling in her King Size bed, which she reckons is bigger than her entire bedroom in England. Welcome to the States!
